Iron, wood and light beneath a vaulted ceiling..

Delta Style is a fashion boutique in Piacenza, set in a room with a vaulted ceiling. The restyling, completed in 2021, starts from that vault: instead of competing with it, the project brings it back into view and organises the shop beneath it, along a clearer path from the entrance to the fitting room.

Every element was designed for this room. The display units are made of black iron tube with solid wood shelves, light enough to leave the walls visible and strong enough to carry the collection. A full wall is given to accessories, shoes and leather goods. The fitting room is closed by a black iron frame drawn like a window, a barn-style sliding door and a pocket door complete the sequence of passages, and a clad mirror wall gives the sales area its backdrop.

Light is built into the architecture in two layers. A plasterboard element carries the conduits for every spotlight and an LED strip that washes the vault with warm light, while recessed spots and a continuous light cove at 2,700–3,000 K pick out the products. Alberto Pancotti developed the moodboard, the design drawings and the custom display units for the studio of architect Annalisa Tinelli, which managed construction.
